UPCYCLE Program with Rosa for Women in shelters

UPCYCLE Program with Rosa for Women in shelters

Cabana Sky founders visited women in shelter on April 4, 2024 to set up UPCYCLE Program for them. The founder Sara called them “Women on Purpose” gave us a tour to the facility in which the residents who were rescued from human trafficking or seek safety from abused spouses, some singles and most of these women were with small children.

After these women were settled down and had a period of resting, they can start taking the beginner sewing classes with Rosa, Cabana Sky collaboration tailor and teacher. UPCYCLE programs provide these women the sewing and pattern cutting skills that they eventually can have a choice of become professional careers as tailors or useful skills that they can do at home for their clothes. Basically, UPCYCLE programs give these women brighter futures that they can looking forward to create and embrace.

UPCYCLE programs were created to reduce the impacts of waste into environment. Since these Turkish peshtemal towels last approximately two decades, the customers can return these towels that were old back to Cabana Sky. We in turn give these peshtemal materials to women in shelters to make into pet toys, soft toys, bags, tote bags, pouches, baby products, etc…

Cabana Sky teams were happy for the tour and delighted to be partners with Sara to make better lives for these women.
